Wage ranges and benefit outlines on job advertisements, new ADA accommodation notice requirements, an expansion of lactation breaks, and a dramatic change in “stay or pay” requirements in employer training, tuition reimbursement or retention policies -- these are just a few of the new laws that will soon be taking effect in Connecticut. At the same time, federal agencies have continued to reshape workplace regulations and priorities. The DOL is finalizing the rule for classifying independent contractors, OSHA is moving forward with its Heat Illness and Injury Rule and the EEOC is proposing to revoke national origin discrimination guidelines and the rules concerning selection procedures, such as degree requirements and testing.
